What is Matrix Therapy?
I’ve revisited research on the unconscious mind after observing that, while most of my coaching and counselling clients sustain new behaviours, some revert to old negative patterns and struggled to address these issues, as talk therapy had its limits. This led me to study Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnosis, and Matrix Therapy.
Following several years of dedicated study, I have successfully completed my qualifications as a Master Practitioner in NLP and Matrix Therapy. The rationale behind the additional qualifications’ merits further consideration. Therefore, let us examine this subject in greater detail.
Mental Constructs
As individuals mature, experiences are accumulated in mental constructs often referred to as gestalts or cognitive files. While these events may not always be accessible to conscious recall, they remain encoded within the brain at an unconscious level. If your life so far has been entirely positive, you’ll have only good experiences to draw from. If you’re like most people, you’ve probably experienced negative events that remain in your gestalt. Unconscious memories shape our values, beliefs, and fears. These memories can either contribute to a fulfilling life or create ongoing struggles.
Matrix Therapy addresses how all experiences are filtered through the gatekeeper, which sits between the conscious and unconscious mind. We evaluate new information based on past experiences, which shapes our current responses. To prevent negative past experiences from influencing us daily, we need to bypass the gatekeeper and reach the unconscious mind. This allows us to remove current negativity and traumatic experiences from our lives.
What does it help with?
The Matrix coach leads you into a semi-meditative state and, with targeted language, helps you identify and remove past negative influences and emotions that may be holding you back. Matrix Therapy is a method based on Neuro-Linguistic Programming that is used to support clients in achieving personal development and professional objectives such as increased productivity and career progression.
It has also been used in the treatment of other issues such as:
